Cultural treasures and places of interest in Tesimo & surroundings

Strolling through Tesimo and its surroundings means immersing yourself in times gone by with every step you take. The route takes you past historic castles and palaces such as Katzenzungen Castle and Fahlburg Castle, and on to impressive churches and chapels that still reflect the rich history of the region today.

One of the area's special gems is St. Hippolyt, a hill that can be seen from afar and home to one of South Tyrol's oldest settlements. The “versoaln vine”, the largest and probably oldest grapevine in the world, thrives in front of Katzenzungen Castle.

Cultural highlights include the 'Day of Romanticism', which transports visitors to bygone eras, and 'Keschtnriggl', a chestnut festival in autumn, which celebrates local traditions and cuisine in a delightful setting.
